actually, that scene happens pretty much exactly like that in the 1st comic (pretty sure it was #1. within the 1st 5 anyway).

I only remember the weird/philosophical stories where somebody done somebody wrong, and ran/got chased into/happened to saunter through the swamp, and Man-Thing got 'em, and then shuffled off deeper into the swamp...where, invariably, some evil person would run/get chased into/wander through, and he...er...it would get 'em, and then shamble back deeper into the swamp...where, within a month, some baddie would run...etc.
